Cicero's Rhetoric, one of the most widely read books ever written. This is one of only two quarto editions in SFU's Wosk-McDonald collection. In this edition is the famous preface in which Aldus complains of his busy life and tells of the sign he has made for his shop, which admonishes his many visitors to “state their business quickly and be gone!” The Aldine Anchor & Dolphin device appears on the title page and again on p512.
